 DGN Summer School 2015
Translational Research in Molecular Imaging and Radionuclide Therapy

The DGN Medical Education Committee offers an annual "DGN Summer School" under the auspices of
the German Society of Nuclear Medicine (DGN), an attractive format for promoting young academics in
the field of nuclear medicine held in 2014 for the first time.
The target audiences of the DGN Summer School are i) excellent medical students in their final study
phase, ii) residents highly interested in science with 1-2 years of practice in nuclear medicine as well as
physicists, chemists and biologists in a nuclear medic PhD program.
The goal is to deepen and establish links to molecular imaging and get the participants engaged in
nuclear medicine, to integrate them into research activities, and to encourage a long-term career in
nuclear molecular medicine and connected fields.
The DGN Summer School will be organized as an international training course in English.
A maximum of 30 participants will actively work on specific themes in lectures, case studies, and handson
presentations in order to learn about the different aspects of the respective topic in detail on a
profound scientific level. Nationally and internationally distinguished scientists and experts for the
respective topics will give the lectures and presentations.
Social events in the evening will complement the daily program encouraging further exchange and
stimulating discussions between the participants and the tutors.
The second DGN-Summer School will be held at the Charité in Berlin on August 27-29, 2015, organized
by Prof. Dr. Winfried Brenner. Please find the preliminary program as well as further information online at
http://summerschool2015.nuklearmedizin.de. Additionally, you can contact the DGN office at any time
(email: office(at)nuklearmedizin.de; phone: 0049.(0)551.48857-401

The participants will be selected based on their applications including a CV, a letter of motivation and a
reference letter of their supervisor (English or German). Successful applicants will receive a grant for the
DGN Summer School covering the expenses for accommodation, food and tuition fees.
Please hand-in your application via email at office(at)nuklearmedizin.de until May 31, 2015.
Please do not apply again if you have already participated in the DGN-Summer School 2014.

We are hoping that we got you interested in our new activity and that you will apply for participation in
this event. Please feel free to contact the DGN office at any time for details.

With kind regards
